SageSure and Auros Close $100 Million Catastrophe Bond with Broad Market Support

Eleventh Gateway Re issuance indicates strong investor support for the series and SageSure, the seventh top catastrophe bond sponsor globally.

JERSEY CITY, NJ—July 11, 2025—SageSure, one of the largest managing general underwriters focused on catastrophe-exposed markets, and its carrier partners Auros Reciprocal Insurance Exchange (“Auros”) and Elevate Reciprocal Exchange (“Elevate”) announced the close of the Gateway Re Series 2025-3 catastrophe bond at $100 million in nearly half the typical placement timeline. With more than $2.1 billion in cumulative notional limit including this issuance, the SageSure-supported Gateway Re series has secured SageSure’s spot as the seventh top catastrophe bond sponsor in the world as of this date in terms of total notional outstanding.

Following Auros’ inaugural catastrophe bond deal in April, the latest issuance achieved strong execution with lowered and narrowed price guidance, indicating investor confidence in the Gateway Re franchise.

“SageSure’s position as one of the leading global catastrophe bond sponsors demonstrates the strategic role of ILS markets in our carrier partners’ reinsurance programs,” said Terrence McLean, President and CEO of SageSure. “We are grateful for the investor support that enables greater protection against peak perils and greater capacity in the catastrophe-exposed states we serve.”

The Gateway Re 2025-3 Class A notes will provide protection across a single hurricane season for cedants Auros and Elevate in Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas.

“Auros is honored to partner with SageSure to strengthen the protection of our programs and our policyholders,” said Travis Lewis, CEO of Auros Risk Management. “We are grateful for the ILS market’s confidence and look forward to the responsible growth this issuance will support.”

Ed Konar, President of Elevate Risk Management, added, “We are excited by the positive response from the investor community to this catastrophe bond placement. Capital markets continue to enhance the resilience of our reinsurance program.”

As with previous Gateway Re transactions, Swiss Re Capital Markets acted as the sole structuring agent and bookrunner for the transaction.

“We are proud to have partnered with SageSure, Auros, and Elevate in the successful execution of the eleventh Gateway Re catastrophe bond issuance,” said Jean-Louis Monnier, CEO of Swiss Re Capital Markets Corporation. “The overwhelming support from investors for a transaction announced later in the issuance season is a testament to the trust that investors have in SageSure’s differentiated approach to underwriting, claims, and risk management.”

SageSure Launches Free Electrical Fire Prevention Program for Louisiana Policyholders

Innovative program provides free Ting sensor technology and fire prevention service to protect families and homes from electrical hazards.

JERSEY CITY, NJ—June 24, 2025—SageSure, one of the largest managing general underwriters focused on catastrophe-exposed markets, today announced it has partnered with Whisker Labs to help homeowners prevent electrical fires, starting in Louisiana. By providing free Ting sensors and fire prevention services to eligible Louisiana policyholders, SageSure is further expanding its proactive property protection solutions that complement its insurance offerings.

The Ting plug-in sensor and app help detect hazards that lead to electrical fires within a home’s wiring, devices, and utility equipment. If a hazard is identified, the Ting sensor app alerts the homeowner and guides them through the repairs needed to address the issue.

“SageSure is proud to enhance our suite of solutions with an electrical fire prevention program proven to make homes safer and more resilient,” said Paul VanderMarck, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at SageSure. “Fires are one of the most costly and devastating events a homeowner may face, and approximately 20% of SageSure’s fire claims are the result of electrical hazards. We look forward to partnering with our producers to help our policyholders reduce electrical fire risk and protect their families.”

In addition to fire prevention, Ting also provides real-time alerts for power outages and assistance for frozen pipe prevention as part of its commitment to helping keep families safe and informed.

“We are proud to offer Ting to our clients because it gives homeowners peace of mind and allows us to deliver even greater value,” said Dick Gibbs, VP of Sales at Hartwig Moss Insurance Agency, one of SageSure’s distribution partners. “By helping our clients prevent losses before they happen, we are not only protecting their homes; we are protecting their families and futures. Ting is more than just a safety device—it is a key differentiator that sets SageSure apart in a crowded market. It’s the kind of innovation that makes us proud to represent SageSure.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with SageSure to bring Ting to even more homes,” shared Bob Marshall, Whisker Labs Co-Founder and CEO. “Ting has already been deployed to over 1 million homes and saved over 20,000 policyholders from potentially devastating fires. This partnership not only helps keep families safe but also strengthens the relationship between policyholders, their insurance providers, and insurance representatives by offering a preventative, technology-driven solution.”

Eligible SageSure policyholders will receive a free Ting plug-in sensor, the Ting app, up to three years of free fire prevention service, and a $1,000 credit for labor repair costs of Ting-identified hazards. SageSure plans to expand the program to more states soon. SageSure and First-Time Cedent Auros Close Upsized $150 Million Catastrophe Bond at Low-End Pricing

With the tenth catastrophe bond issuance in the SageSure-supported Gateway Re series, SageSure becomes one of the top five primary catastrophe bond sponsors globally.

JERSEY CITY, NJ—April 8, 2025—SageSure, one of the largest managing general underwriters focused on catastrophe-exposed markets, and Auros Reciprocal Insurance Exchange (“Auros”), a policyholder-owned insurer, announced the close of the Gateway Re Series 2025-2 catastrophe bond at $150 million. With the completion of this transaction, the SageSure-supported Gateway Re franchise has secured more than $2 billion in cumulative notional limit, making SageSure one of the top five primary insurance carrier catastrophe bond sponsors in the world as of the date of this release.

The series will provide multi-year named storm reinsurance protection for both Auros, a first-time cedent entering the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market, and Elevate Reciprocal Exchange (“Elevate”). At a 20 percent upsize from its initial $125 million target, the tenth issuance in the Gateway Re series is yet another strong result for the franchise, achieving price execution in the lower half of its initial target.

The Gateway Re 2025-2 Class A notes will provide US named storm protection across a three-year term in Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas, with the ability to add more states at reset.

As with previous Gateway Re issuances, Swiss Re Capital Markets acted as the sole structuring agent and bookrunner for the transaction.

“We are proud to collaborate with SageSure and Auros to successfully bring the tenth Gateway Re catastrophe bond issuance to market,” said Jean-Louis Monnier, CEO of Swiss Re Capital Markets Corporation. “The upsized limit and strong execution demonstrate investor confidence in SageSure’s effective exposure management, regulatory and capital optimization through carrier management, and the performance of the Gateway Re series.”
