6 Ideas for Generating Insurance Leads

As the holiday season approaches, you don’t want to lose the momentum you’ve been gaining during the busy summer months. To help out, here are some helpful tips for continuing to generate leads during a time when opportunities are a bit tougher to find.

  1. Set up a “refer a friend” promotion. Communicate to your current base that for every referral that is quoted, they’ll earn a gift card or other reward. Additionally, ensure that your current client base is up-to-date when reaching out. There are a variety of helpful marketing automation tools that can be used to assist with this.
  2. Try sponsoring local sports teams and/or donating something to their events (such as snacks, t-shirts or hats). This is a great way to generate brand awareness so your name is in the minds of community members when the need for new coverage arises.
  3. Just because you tried with someone once doesn’t mean you should write them off. Reach out to your old leads to inquire about requoting them. Maybe this time they’ll decide you’re the right fit! On top of that, if you have clients who are using some, but not all of the types of coverage you offer, try following up with them to see about writing additional policies.
  4. Link related local businesses on your website and request that they do the same for you. Google considers quality backlinks in search engine rankings, so this is an easy, mutually-beneficial way to increase your visibility–and it’s free! Organic search has the highest profit margins, and it doesn’t cost anything to rank in search engines, except your “sweat equity.”
  5. Similarly, you can also connect with realtors, mortgage brokers or other local businesses in related fields to put on fun events for the public. This is a great way to build a strong presence in your community and build a network of potential customers. Some ideas include a coffee hour, trunk-or-treat or chili cookoff.
  6. Finally, it’s very beneficial to maintain an active presence on social media. Post interesting content about your services, company and community to keep followers engaged. Interactive posts, like questions and giveaways, can go a long way to keep your name top-of-mind and generate leads among potential customers. Many people also turn to Facebook for reviews of businesses–don’t be shy about asking your best customers to leave a kind word. You may want to consider paid social media advertising as well. For a relatively low cost, you can reach a wider audience than those who already follow your page.

Some times of year are tougher than others to find innovative ways to drive sales, but we hope these tips help you find plenty of new opportunities for growth!
