Ting is currently available to most Louisiana and Virginia homeowners. Log in to your SageSure account to see if you’re eligible, confirm your contact information, and review the user agreement. Once eligibility is confirmed, your Ting sensor is shipped. If you’re new to SageSure, your property must clear inspection and your policy must be in good standing before Ting ships to you.
Very easy! It typically takes two minutes to install and activate the service, no matter your technology skill level. All you need is a smartphone and 24/7 Wi-Fi connection. Simply download the Ting Sensor app from the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store and it will guide you through the process.
Ting monitors your entire electrical system, and everything that’s plugged into it, to check for micro-arcs and sparks caused by faulty wiring, loose connections, and faulty appliances and devices. Ting provides advance warnings so you can address these hazards before they cause electrical fires.
You’ll receive an app notification, a text message, an email, and a phone call from a Ting Fire Safety Engineer. They’ll walk you through the details of the hazard, along with a plan to resolve it, including putting you in contact with a licensed electrician. The Ting Remediation Credit gives you up to $1,000 for the electrician’s service, which typically covers all costs.
Ting does not contain any other technology like microphones, cameras, or motion detectors. There are no control features that can be used to configure, change, turn off/on, or otherwise govern a Ting sensor.
